QUINTREX Making Waves in 2021 – By Dominic Fry

The team at the iconic Australian boat manufacturer Quintrex is set to release five reinvigorated models in the near future. The Fishabout, Top Ender, Cruiseabout, Ocean Spirit and Hornet have all been remodelled, rebadged and will hit the water in June! I had the pleasure of testing a few models on a cool and blustery day on the Gold Coast Broadwater just recently.

Quintrex will be adopting a ‘Boat Bundle’ strategy in that buyers can option up their new boat with a package of specially selected features to suit their boating needs and budget. Starting with the entry level each model is available in an affordable and simplistic format.

What a trio....three of the newly released 2021 range from Quintrex.

From there consumers can upgrade to the Comfort Bundle, Fishing Bundle and the Captain’s Bundle. Those that are looking for all the bells and whistles can opt for the Pro Model featuring all premium extras.

Driven by the Quintrex promise of boating made easy, together with insight from the global marine market, the new line-up will pave the way towards nurturing new boaties into the industry whilst continuing to deliver an unparalleled aluminium boating experience.

All future models will don the fresh attire and the easily recognisable new Quintrex stripe design as well as an impressive array of improvements. For starters a heightened transom will enhance on water performance. I must say the handling of these vessels was extraordinary. Being thrown around in fast tight turns was comfortable and safe. No slippage or cavitation was evident at all.

The new Quintrex stripe design will soon be instantly recognisable right across Australia.

The dashboards across the Fishabout and Cruiseabout ranges have been redesigned to allow for larger electronic componentry and more storage. Hydraulic steering will now be standard across most models over five metres to improve handling and ride. Many other features have been enhanced also such as side pockets, seamless upholstery and new and improved deluxe rear lounges in all applicable models.

The three boats available on the test day were the Fishabout Pro 520, Top Ender Pro 540 and the Ocean Spirit 590. All performed admirably on the day and they were a true pleasure to drive. Layouts were uncluttered yet eminently functional. All boats displayed clean lines and the new stripe design will soon be instantly recognisable right across Australia.

With over 75 years of boating history under the Quintrex belt, the brand has affirmed itself as one of the leading aluminium boat manufacturers in the country.
